The TALENT4RURALSCIENCE program officially closed its application phase A on March 31, 2026, achieving a remarkable level of international engagement. A total of 96 postdoctoral researchers from more than 35 nationalities have submitted their proposals to develop high-impact science in the region. 

 The applicants represent a diverse global talent pool. Moreover, the call has resulted in a near-perfect parity among applicants, with 51% of proposals submitted by women and 49% by men, underscoring our dedication to equal opportunities in research 

What are the next steps? Following the call closure, the Selection Committee is currently conducting the eligibility check (Step 2) during the month of April. 

During May, all candidates who successfully meet the requirements will be formally invited to participate in the TALENT4RURALSCIENCE Call for Researchers (Phase B).  

The final selection results are expected to be published in September 2026, with the researchers joining the University of Extremadura Research Institutes in March 2027.
